What we collect

CareerDuel is an AI-powered mock interview platform. To provide the Service, we collect:

• Account information: If you create an account, we store your name, email, and authentication details provided by your sign-in.
• Voice during an interview: When you take a mock interview, we access your microphone to capture your spoken responses in real time. We do not use your camera.
• Interview context you provide: You may optionally provide a target role, job description, or resume so we can tailor the interview questions to you.
• Interview transcripts and feedback reports: A text transcript of your interview and the AI-generated feedback, scores, and recommendations.
• Contact form: The name, email, and message you provide when you contact us.

We don't use tracking cookies or third-party advertising analytics.

Microphone and voice data

Your microphone is only active during a live mock interview, and only after you grant your browser's microphone permission. Here is how your voice is handled:

• Real-time processing: Your audio is streamed to our AI interviewer so it can listen, respond, and transcribe your answers as you speak.
• No audio recordings stored: We do not save or retain a recording of your voice. The audio is processed transiently and discarded once it has been transcribed.
• Transcript only: What we keep is the text transcript of the conversation, which is used to generate your feedback report.

How we use your data

We use your voice and interview context solely to conduct the mock interview, transcribe your responses, and generate a feedback report with scores and recommendations. If you have an account, we store your transcripts and reports so you can revisit your interview history and track your progress over time. We do not sell or share your personal data for marketing purposes.

Data retention

• Voice audio: Never stored. Processed in real time and discarded immediately after transcription.
• Transcripts & feedback reports: Stored securely so you can access your interview history. You can request deletion at any time.
• Interview context (role, job description, resume): Retained alongside the related interview so your report stays meaningful. Deleted when you delete the interview or your account.
• Account data: Name, email, and plan information are stored for as long as your account is active.
• Contact form messages: Retained only to respond to your inquiry, then deleted.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to operate CareerDuel, including AI processing providers (to power and transcribe the interview and generate feedback), authentication and cloud infrastructure providers, and a payment processor. Your data is shared with these providers solely to the extent needed to deliver the Service, is processed in accordance with their data processing agreements, and is not used by them for their own purposes. We do not store your payment card details; these are handled directly by our payment processor.

Your rights

If you have an account, you can request access to, or deletion of, your interview history and account data at any time. For any data deletion requests or questions, email hello@careerduel.comand we'll handle it promptly.
